Request account and data deletion
Account Deletion
The fastest way to delete your Synapse account and all associated data is directly in the app: open Settings, choose Delete Account, and confirm. Deletion is immediate.
You can also request deletion by email at:
Include the email address associated with your Synapse account so we can verify your identity and process the request.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your account profile (email, display name, language preferences)
- Flashcards and vocabulary lists
- Study progress and review history
- Karaoke session data and shared songs
- Ear training progress
- Course progress and daily goals
- Subscription information (an active subscription must be cancelled separately in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings)
What Gets Retained
Some data may be retained as required by law or legitimate business purposes:
- Anonymized analytics data (cannot be linked back to you)
- Transaction records (as required by financial regulations, up to 7 years)
Timeline
In-app deletion takes effect immediately. Email requests are processed within 30 days of receipt, and you will receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.
